Not at all. Your tree is still restricted to your computer UNLESS you have made the choice to upload your tree to MyHeritage. MyHeritage allows users to have their own trees (Much like Ancestry.com) but there is no automatic upload of your tree to MyHeritage to support the hints.

Hints pass information about one person at a time to let MyHeritage search their databases for any possible matches. It is the same as the existing manual searches you can perform using Internet > Search Internet which also passes information on a person. The Hints process performs those searches in the background so you do not have to manually execute each search.

Does this mean that our trees in Legacy are no longer private?

You have to add all the information you find via the Hints manually, hint
lets you find data but does not automatically update the information in
your file. That message by MyHeritage only means that they have recorded
the match on their web site and, if you have a MyHeritage tree on their
site that includes the person, the match will now show in their record on
that tree.

I'm a little confused on the incorporation of hints. I selected a hint
from
MyHeritage, (found in New York State Deaths, 1957 - 1964). This hint
indicated it was an added residence to my data. I clicked confirm and the
following message appeared in the MyHeritage page:

"This record was confirmed as a match and is available on James Edward
Cody's Legacy Family Tree profile. Be sure to review the record, extract
useful information from it (e.g. birth date) and add it manually to the
Legacy Family Tree profile."

If the message states "confirmed as a match and is available on James
Edward
Cody's Legacy Family Tree profile" where can I see the "available on James
Edward Cody's Legacy Family Tree profile"? When I click on the
individual's
information screen I cannot find anywhere that an update in Legacy was
made
for the residency of this person.

The next part of the message is confusing as it then states to "review the
record extract useful information from it (e.g. birth date) and add it
manually to the Legacy Family Tree profile." Is this just stating that I
should look at the record and "if" I find other new information then I
should add it manually?

Thanks,
