I agree with Jerry. The latest Windoze update is a real trouble causer. We have
two laptop, one a HP the other a Asus both Windows 10. The Asus machine updated
(on its own, despite having set the 'let me decide' option) to the April
service pack and the whole machine had to have Windoze re-installed. We lost
everything. The HP machine was fine after the update. Both machines use AVG.

I guess the moral of the story is:

Backup before an upgrade, especially to WIndoze (although in our case the
upgrade happened on it own).

I would really warn people about the April upgrade too. It seems like it is a
major deal but has little gain in functionality. YMMV

Best regards

Kevin

Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Have Lost My Access to Legacy 9

After following this thread, I think your problem stems from the Windows
update you installed. A lot of users are reporting problems with the
April update to windows 10 to version 1803. Especially affected are
Toshiba and machines using Avast and AVG antivirus. I have two
machines, one is just fine and then there is my Toshiba Laptop - - lots
of problems. A new cumulative update came out today. It may help. Or
you could roll back to the Fall Creators update for awhile...
