It sounds as if you simply attached to an event rather than direct to
the individual. In the Media Gallery see a drop down arrow next to
Individual. If you go up the list you'll find All which is All media
linked to this individual (it doesn't include media linked to source
citations for this person). This is a read only view.
If you look down the list, Events with media linked will have an asterisk.
Event media can show on Family View depending on your setting at Options
