Jennie,

This thread was originally about installing and running Legacy from a Flash Drive presumably because the original poster wanted to have a version of Legacy which he could use on any machine. That is not possible because Legacy has to be installed on any computer where you try to use it. Some of the files Legacy installs are in the Windows System folders which would be missing on any computer which does not have Legacy installed.

The need to have the Flash drive use the same drive letter on two machines applies any time the Legacy Data includes media files.

If you have any media stored on the flash drive you do need to have the flash drive use the same letter on each computer where you intend to use it with Legacy.

Legacy uses the full path, including the drive letter for all references to a media file. If your USB drive is drive E: on the computer which is used mainly for Legacy but is Drive F: on a second computer then Legacy will not find the media when you are using it because it will be looking for files on Drive E. instead of F:

Hi Lena,

It does not need to use the same letter between computers - each install of Legacy will look for the drive letter that you specify on that particular computer e.g  my laptop might use Drive E but my desktop might use Drive F. You just have to make sure that if you have multiple USB ports on the computer that you use the same port each time,
