I understand there are two ways to merge a gedcom to my master files: one by merging the gedcom file directly into the master file; the other is to use the gedcom to create a new LFT file, then merge that database into the master file. That latter seems a lot more complicated.
My question is, which is the easiest and best way to do this to assure no problems. The gedcom is not all that big, perhaps 620 individuals. The master file has 7500 individuals. The gedcom was originally created when I decided to delete a collateral line from my master file, but I wanted to save the info just in case. Well, here I am wanting to re-add that line to my master file. However, I have upgraded to v.9 since then. It seems on the surface that the gedcom should be pretty clean and that I ought to be safe importing/merging it back into my master file. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
