That worked but have no idea how she was linked to an “Unknow/blank” spouse in the first place….. unlinked from spouse icon. You'll find you have an unknown/blank partner. You can enter one simply by opening the Marriage Information screen and saving out rather than cancelling out. So unlink the partner and that check box will become active again. You can unlink by using the right click menu when you click on her or clicking her spouse icon. This is for a deceased 74-year-old spinster who never married. Appears to be random for only a few new Individuals before adding spouse and marriage details. Have noticed this box is normally ticked automatically when entering a new individual with no spouse. Never been a problem in the past and I have been using Legacy since Legacy 5 and now on latest Version 9.0.0.393 Any ideas how to fix, I have looked through all the settings, but cannot find anything appropriate.
