Dear List,

I guess like most of you I have been busy having great fun with Version 3.0
and have found no problems . I notice my old Alt U and Alt N wasn't working
to add a son or daughter but checking the HELP file I found the new
keystrokes of AS [add son] and AD [add daughter] , and what was better
'hundreds' of other great keystroke ideas.

Well done everyone involved in the development of the new program

I also was going to mention about married names raised today and taking
husband's name or not.
In my database all females are always known as their maiden name whether
they marry once or five times. ie I am Sandra Margaret JOULE in any reports
I print out, of course it states I married Bruce Marlon QUINN in 1988 and
had x children.
So whether I go by Sandra Margaret JOULE or Sandra Margaret QUINN for my
daily life, for family history purposes I will always be Sandra Margaret
JOULE and all events linked to me as such. In notes I would make a comment
that I didn't take my husbands name.

I just thought I would comment as I have over the years received some very
confusing trees where the husband's name has been tagged onto wife's, making
it difficult to work out why a John SMITH and wife Nancy managed to have a
child Mary GREEN, think okay Mary was daughter of Nancy by prior
relationship , only then to find Mary had married a Fred GREEN and the
compiler of the tree had changed Mary's surname to married name. :-))

Anyway enough waffle from a very damp Far North Queensland, Australia
Sandy QUINN
