You can change the settings, as John Lancaster explained, or use the  Set
Living
utility to set tagged individuals to Not Living. You can tag entire
ancestral lines using the logic that if all my grandparents, born 1883-1891,
are
dead then for certain all of their ancestors have to be dead also.

Set Living can be reached from the Name List by clicking the Options button
and selecting it from the options menu.
