Another point to consider in support of Ron's method is that when we do 
a locations sort, that the same location will show up in different 
positions in the sort results, unless we consistently use the current 
location name. If we have ancestors who lived in the same place before 
and after location name changes, I would like them all to show when 
you do a "show list".

 David Naylor made a very good point that you should be sure to do a 
right to left search. For this to be universally successful, the country 
always needs to be entered.
