Hi Tom, I normally have used the HP scanners. However I had a bunch of
trouble with the new HP 5370 scanner ( they apparently had a bad batch of
defective glass). Went to the Canon N1220U which sells for $199. it has as
good of quality (high resolution) as the HP top end scanners. I am quite
pleased with it and really like the size which is about the size of a
laptop. I also just got HP's best kept secret, the 920 Capshare handheld
scanner. It is great for doing books, etc when you are away from home. Holds
up to 50 pages of scanned material until you can download it into your
computer, handheld pc or other. Kathy
