> Hi, Sharon. I can understand how a church can be thought of as a
location, but how can it be considered a source?

The church itself is not a source, but the records kept by a church are a
source accepted even by the DAR (which no longer accepts family Bible or
personal family records). Church records provide two necessary elements for
authentication; a place where the event took place, and third party
documentation of the event.
