I often move text on web pages to WordPad, then change the font, font size,
font color, etc., to print the data I want without wasting colored ink and
paper, and to be sure the data will all fit on the page.

Data you do not need can be deleted, and notes added.

If you only want to change to Landscape printing format, Use the "file",
"print", "properties" options. Do not click on the printer option on the
browser page.

To use WordPad to print the text the way you want it:

1. Open WordPad by clicking on "Start", then press "R", then type "WordPad"
in the box, press enter.

2. To copy the text on a web page or in a document, Highlight just the text
you want, press Control-C,
press "Alternate-Tab" to open wordpad, press "Control-V".

2. Edit the text, fonts, font colors, etc.

3. If the page was HTML, you will see a lot of grabage that you can delete.
I often save the page using "Save-As", "Dos Text", with an appropriate file
name and in a directory like "C:\Temp" and a file extension of "txt". Then I
close the document (Wordpad), then use "Start", "Run", "Wordpad", "Alt-F",
select the file just saved, and open it. Then edit the HTML garbage.

In step (2) above, if you want to copy the whole page, click on the body,
then press "Alternate-A". That will highlight everything on the page. Most
of the time, there is garbage I do not want.

I usually click on the URL, press "Control-C", and paste that into the
wordpad document at the top, so I know where I found the data. Adding the
date is useful, also.

This same method can be used for pasting data from the web into the notes in
Legacy. Then highlight the text and select the "wordwrap" option where
needed.

I use Windows ME, IE-5, and an HP printer. The procedure may be differnet
with other printers and software.
