I will tell you upfront that I have a Palm and am not familiar with Pocket PC. Actually it is my husband's but will be getting my own soon because I have taken his over. I use it primarily for genealogy, small databases, address book, memo pad and date book. No more lost scraps of paper with notes on them. There is one thing to remember when looking at Palms. Palm programs are written very tight. Unlike regular PC program which require Ms of memory, the palm program will take up Ks. Ours has 2M of memory and is full. Most of it is the databases and books I downloaded. The 8 MB would be better. The Palm are expanding, literally. The TRGpro accepts Compact Flash for extended storage. The Sony (not released in the US yet) accepts their Memory Stick. The Palms being released soon will also have expansion slots. When I purchased his Palm, the low-end Pocket PC cost more than the high-end Palm. A high-end Palm (the brand new ones) are around $500. Decide what you want to do with it, think wild and see if there are programs available. Palmgear.com and Handango.com are good places to look. Expect to do more than you think. See what matchs your needs. Mary Beth Figgins [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe: http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/LegacyLists.asp
