Wm Voss,
I downloaded Incredimail to see what the settings were. I set this reply to plain text. Please let me know how it comes across.
Thanks,
Jim Winfrey

Subject: [LegacyUG] email format
I probably should mention that I don't really care one way or the other how messages arrive. I brought the format to Cindy's attention only because her last came through with a dark dove gray background and set in black 8 pt. type - very difficult to read. It is becoming apparent, with more and more alternate email programs available, that there will be increasing difficulty preserving the user-enforced rule for plain text messages. This is not from any evil intent on the part of list members, but simply that the programs are primarily configured to produce HTML, with a plain text option included (if it is at all) as an bothersome afterthought. Short of a list/server based procedure for stripping all messages of format before delivery, I don't know that there is a solution. I would only ask that if message must be sent in rich text that the background be left white and the text set in something above 10 pt.
