Hi,
I just got done cleaning my puter of the sir cam virus.  If you're unsure go
to this site for a free scan.  It's really good and is kept up to date.  It
picked my virus up and told me how to clean it.  I have norton running all
the time and keep it up to date but it was unable to pick the virus up.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Virus Alert

I am getting a growing number of "infected" replies from our weekly Legacy News mailings. These short messages usually don't make much sense, but have an executable file attached to them. (My anti-virus program and firewall are doing a good job at catching them.) I doubt the originators of these messages even know their computers are replicating the virus and sending it out to anyone who sends them e-mail.

I have also received an alert from McAfee: There is a large and growing number of consumer computers infected with W32/SirCam@MM. This is a high risk virus for consumers. I encourage everyone to update their anti-virus programs and don't open an attachments in messages sent to the Legacy Users Group.

Thanks,

Jim Terry
