I am lifting the moratorium as we need your help.
I have been aware of the Jet 4.0 Service Pack 5 and have even asked our
testers to download it and run with it. SP5 is not a Generally Accepted
Release yet by Microsoft at least not what they have told us as developers.
It's almost impossible to find it on their site and I would have missed it
but saw a discussion on one of the newsgroups. As new versions of controls
that are used by Legacy are released we test with them so the next major
upgrade we can release them with confidence. Once in a while one of the
upgrades to the controls we use is a critical one and we cannot wait for a
major release which is why we have released Legacy Maintenance Pack's in the
past.
Before we release a new Maintenance Pack, I want to be sure that the Jet 4.0
SP5 really does solve the problem of the 3022 errors some have gotten. So,
we need your help.
I don't want to fill this list with a bunch of messages relating to the
error 3022 which is why Jim was asking for a moratorium on this subject. As
the moderator of this list Jim gets to hear all of the concerns people have
and I think he does a great job keeping things in check.
What I really need at this point is for those of you who have gotten the
3022 error to download the Jet 4.0 SP5 and to use Legacy for a while and
then let me know if you get the error any longer. I would like for you to
send your messages to [EMAIL PROTECTED] directly if you are just
reporting a yes or no. If you feel you have some comments that others who
have gotten the 3022 error should see then post the message to this list so
all can benefit from it. After I have heard back from some of you I will
post the findings on this list. If the Jet 4.0 SP5 fixes the problem we
will do a Maintenance for everyone to install.
