Actually, the program is handling this correctly; you are adding a child to
an individual, not a marriage. To do what you want, right click on the
child, select add - parents. Choose existing, select correct parents from
marriage list.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Linking a person to existing parents already married

Hello,
When I discover that one person is the son or daughter of an existing
couple, I click on his empty parents box, then a box opens asking "new
father" or "existing father".
I choose "existing".

Right, but I am surprised that the program does not link to the mother
(for the couple of people I choose as parents are already married) at
the same time.

So, I open the same box with "add new" and "link to existing", because
I want to link ther person to his mother.

Then, that is very strange is that the program tells me something
like: "these two people are already married, do you want a second
marriage link for them" ?
And after that, the person that I wanted to link to these parents is
their son/daughter only in the second marriage, not in the first.

So, after that, I have to unlik the child from the second marriage,
then link him to his parents in the first marriage, then unlink the
couple to suppress the useless second marriage.

Thanks for any help
