Donna -- You are hitting the wrong "Save" button. The one you are using is for saving the report settings you have established. Just above that are some choices -- Text, HTML, Screen. Choose one and hit "Create" in the upper right corner. Choose where you want it saved and hit okay. You now have a file that can be edited and pasted into an email. Alternately, choose "Preview" and after that screen loads, pick PDF or RTF.
