I am guessing at your questions point. hope I have it. The way I have
done it in the past is to combine both gedcoms in one file, then merge.
You can do this to keep it clean. If you have 10000 names in one and
5000 in the second, when you add the second make the first RIN start at
15000 (or whatever is way above the first's highest number). Then you
can merge all the stuff, and see how close they are. That way, you know
if you are merging two people from A, instead of an A and a B. When the
first merge, using the tightest parameters, is done, how much of the B
file is still on the Name list. Then loosen the choices, or go in and
Manual Merge the rest. If in the B there are only a few left 5% or so,
then confuse the computer by Gedcoming out 'left over B', delete B from
the combined, then gedcom in 'left over B' but let the RIN numbers be
started at the end of A. You can also bring up two screens in the same
file, before or after merging, as needed. I hope this is clear, good
luck.

PS If you want to send to me only, feel free to do so.
