Pat,

there's GedHTree  - makes US and European maps from birth locations of
all people in your file with a hyperlinked 'density distribution' over
states/countries. Not bad IMHO.

Then there used to be a homebrewed (Java? JS?) program that uses
simple country maps and displays them as dots. This one can also show
sort of a 'slide show' iterating through different periods. Not sure
where & what it exactly was. I would have to search for it on my HDD.
