Jim,
Another friend uses just such a "witness list" for her census
information and it is great when she wants to provide someone with
census information on someone. She has sent me a lot of info that way.
I look up the census image anyway on Ancestry because she never copies
down the exact census date, and I am just picky, I want to see it
myself. But the cut and paste is great to have in front of you when
typing the census information in.

Thanks for the reply.

Subject: Re: [LegacyUserGroup] Advice Before Importing from TMG?

I was a long term TMG user before moving to Legacy. The Gedcom transfer
was, and is, the only way to make this transition. Yes, I lost all
roles
and witness events but I gained so much with Legacy's intuitive
interface to
most database functions and its speed that, to me, it was definitely
worth
the few months it took me to get my data cleaned up per Legacy's
processes.
You can add a Witness event to Legacy - problem is you'll have to enter
it
for each person. The way I solved that was to create a witness list for
each event and attach it to the person who experienced the event. For
instance, a list of all witnesses and participants to a wedding is
included
in the marriage events of the couple.

Hope this helps,

Jim
