In my case it is definately Legacy that is taking the CPU when I perform
these functions - sometimes by as much as 70%. And Legacy releases the CPU
when the task is finished.

I know this from system logs (Windows 2000Pro) -- I don't see it as a
problem in my case because I bought the additional RAM and new CPU for
Legacy... :-)

That said, checking the start-up and the processes list is a good idea from
time-to-time as is checking for malware/ad-ware which can really slow a
machine down. Looking at the process list though only gives you the option
of ending a utility or leaving it running and not the option to allocate
resources by percentage (AFAIK)

I'm
sure there is a way to limit the CPU resources that
may
allocate to Legacy
at any given time -- I just don't know how.>>

Click the Start Button
Click Run
Type in: msconfig
Click OKAY
Click STARTUP

An entire list of programs that are running when you
boot will appear. Many of these programs are
unnecessary and many I don't like running unless I
need them. These unnecessary programs are what is
taxing your system

I have not had a problems with running Legacy but
every computer is unique. But I do have problems
printing when too many programs are running.
