Mike,

I had the same problem when I started on this newsgroup. You are using
Outlook, but Outlook express does not offer the option you are indication.
Users without that option have to either get a read message in their inbox
for every message that you send or respond "no" to your request. It must be
the service that Legacy uses for their listserve as I never had the problem
on other Listserves.

I actually made a separate user in XP for newsgroups so I could continue to
use my regular mail without these issues. I hope you will not be
discouraged to leave the group by the rude and condescending remarks made as
to your programmins skills. I would look forward to any help from someone
with Access skills. But you will have to turn it off on a by message basis
if you need it for your on purposes. The "get a life" response was totally
out of line and not in keeping with board policy of flaming.

Anna

I'm sorry for any inconvenience I may have caused concerning receipt
requests.
Someone else already gave this advice to the group, but not in depth.

Certainly I know how to turn off requesting receipts. But if I do so, it
will apply to all my email communication, which is very important to me. In
most cases I want to know if a message gets through, if I have an address
correct, etc.
Personally, I don't like to have to confirm receipt on incoming messages any
more than anyone else does, so I set my Outlook program to Automatically
send a response. I could set it to Never send a response, whichever I
prefer.

If you don't like to process receipts, as it seems, do the following (in
Outlook):
Menu Tools>Options>Email Options>Tracking Options
The bottom part of the dialog has three options, one of which should take
care of your problem.
If you choose to Always or Never send a response, you will not even notice
when you get a request.
I'm sure other email programs have a similar set of choices.

Elizabeth, I am not a Legacy specialist, just a user. I AM a computer
programmer.

Pictures don't appear in any of the reports except Family and Individual.
