Mike, I, for one, do not like your suggestion that your receipt requests are everyone else's problem and not yours.
I quote from the Legacy User Group Etiquette guidelines (see URL at the bottom of every message): 8. Please do not send "digitally signed" messages. Don't require replies to messages sent to the Legacy Users Group. Please unsubscribe if you are going away and will be using an e-mail AutoResponder. (Subscribers using an e-mail AutoResponder will be automatically removed from our list). The rule does not say that you "oughtn't", or that you should "please be considerate" etc. It says: DON'T. Period. So your choice is, simply, to turn it off or to stop writing to the list. Someone else already gave this advice to the group, but not in depth. Certainly I know how to turn off requesting receipts. But if I do so, it will apply to all my email communication, which is very important to me. In most cases I want to know if a message gets through, if I have an address correct, etc. Personally, I don't like to have to confirm receipt on incoming messages any more than anyone else does, so I set my Outlook program to Automatically send a response. I could set it to Never send a response, whichever I prefer. If you don't like to process receipts, as it seems, do the following (in Outlook): Menu Tools>Options>Email Options>Tracking Options The bottom part of the dialog has three options, one of which should take care of your problem. If you choose to Always or Never send a response, you will not even notice when you get a request. I'm sure other email programs have a similar set of choices.
