I have found that a "Reference" event works best for me. "Survivor" seems too narrow when you consider that some of the people mentioned in an obituary are merely peripherally related to the deceased, yet putting them into Legacy would be useful. "Reference" covers everyone but the deceased. In the Event Definition I wrote it like this:
[HeShe] was referenced in the [Desc] [onDate] [inPlace] [Sources] [Notes]. It comes out looking like this: "He was referenced in the Halifax Daily Courier and Guardian on 22 Dec 1927 in Halifax, Yorkshire, England in his father James William Gaukroger's obituary."
