Before everyone on the list asks me to turn of Receipts, I apologize. I
turned it off, but there was another button I missed turning off.

turn off your request for receipt for messages read. if every body sent you
one that reads this your mail box would be full to the max.

How about creating a phantom person, to whom you could attach all the notes
you want? You could vive the phantom person a name which would sort at the
beginning of the names list, but it would not be linked to anyone. Would
that work? Perhaps there is a better way.

Subject: [LegacyUG] How to site sources where no information is found

I have yet to make use of Leagay sources since moving from another genealogy
program so let me tell everyone that I do not know how Legacy sources work
at all and particularly in this situation. I would like to document sources
that I have looked at but where I found _no_ information on a family or
families? I'm tired of looking at the same book or document over and over
again. The Legacy manual and Legacy HELP do not seem to answer my question.
First of all it says go to ADD--when you go to ADD on the toolbar this has
nothing to do with sources. Now to my questions:

1) Is there a way to document sources in Legacy that have not yielded any
information?
2) Is there a way to do this without connecting the source to an
individual?
3) Is there a way of printing a list of sources by repository or county or
other criteria ? I would like to have a list of sources I've already looked
at to take on future research trips.
4) Will I have to do all of the above outside of Legacy?

Marjorie
