Yes, Ken, it works just fine on a NEW entry. I have a very large file with
tons of locations already entered with info like Rochester, , VT. When I
click on the "Show Geo Location List" icon either on the Individual view or
in edit that is where the problem occurs. Instead of Rochester, Windsor,
Vermont, USA as the default entry I get "Rochester, Andrew, Missouri, USA"

With me now?

With the 5.0.0.52 build I can enter:

Omaha, NE

into a pesons birth location field and when I click the Geo button to the
right it brings up the Geo Locaiton Database and in the list I have one
entry of:

Omaha, Douglas, Nebraska, USA

What has happened to the Geo Database? Up until the last release when a Geo
Database lookup was done the "best match" was provided. For example Omaha,
, NE would come up with Omaha, Douglas, Nebraska, USA. Now the first Omaha
found is the default choice and you have to go down the pick list to find
the Omaha in Nebraska? I don't see this as an improvement.

Patch functionality is for us to deliver updates/changes as we correct
locations. We still plan on adding the ability for users to make changes
but this will probably happen sometime after the release of 5.0.

Hi

You can do this with the Patch geobase function by writting your own patch
files. Open up a patch file in notepad/excel/whatever (you might have to
change ending to .txt first) and then you see how it is written. Important
is to find UID that identifies what location to update.

Question to Ken:
Are you going to expand the patch function with an ADD function so we easily
also can add new locations to Geobase ?
