I just play around with things and found something interesting. I cleared the notes, reset the defaults and closed Legacy. I opened it up and reset the notes and options, but I forgot to check "show spouses for children." I previewed the report and voila, no double notes. I really want the spouses of the children to show, so I went back and checked it, previewed and, Lo and Behold, double notes. I'll wait for the update to correct this, I hope! Isn't this fun? La Nell

Sometimes it helps to change report margins or indent to different settings, then back to the desired settings. I've noticed that with other report formatting "problems" in earlier Legacy updates. Reset of a specific report or file maintenance doesn't always change enough. "Something" that I changed after the messages started about Double spouse notes has fixed the problems of repeated notes, spouse notes in the middle of a line in RTF reports and the funny number in the text output for me. Might have saved a lot of time (and postings to the list) if I'd uninstalled Legacy 5 previous build before installing December 11 build and also deleted USR files. In your case, does it help to clear all notes for the Ahnentafel, exit Legacy, open again, then select the desired notes? Maybe the Legacy experts know what needs to be changed and can do it without having to ask on the list like customers planning a specific report for the first time after an update. I don't have any custom sentences or settings that need to be preserved from one build of Legacy to another. If I cannot include the desired second marriage notes and selected event pictures, the Legacy Anhentafel report isn't very useful. Blended families work best with a descendant report starting with an ancestor of the individual who married twice. The new Multiple Lines of Descendant report has possibilities. -- Elizabeth ----- Original Message ----- From: "La Nell Shores" I just want the step-parents notes to > show and the direct ancestors notes not to appear twice.
