Hello Sherry,

Thankyou for your reply

The first time it happened, I was left with the surname, Kersnovske, in the
index as well as on the family view. (As I am still learning the ins and
outs of legacy I assumed I must have done something.) From then on a blank
family view and no name in the index
.
My name and data and the childrens names and data are there, plus the
grandchildrens

Doing a search for record 1 brings up a blank family view with UNKNOWN in
the male box. Record 2 brings up my data.
As my husband died a few years ago, his record is probably the only one
99.9% complete.
I always go back to record 1 before I exit legacy and the data is always
there.
So far I have not lost the information which is backed up on my external zip
drive. and another backup on my second internal drive.

I realise my hardware is rather antiquated. Pentium one upgraded to a 2
running windows 98 upgrade, with 128 meg of RAM, plus 2 small hard drives.
However apart from being slow at times it is running fine.

Regards Jan
