Hello: My ancestors are all from Scandinavia. One of the frustrating (at least to me) customs they had was changing their surname as they moved around the country, or when they immigrated. Of my four grandparents, three of them have done this, not only once, but twice and three times. The fourth grandparent may have done so too, but unfortunately, I have not been able to find much on her.
My problem: In the "Individual Information" screen, I can delete the automatic surname insertion manually, but is there any option that I can activate that will suppress the automatic insertion? Also, in the same screen, is there another option that I can activate that would automatically add the last location in the "Born" or "Died" etc, fields? This would save me a lot of time deleting and entering information. In "Family View" is there an option that I can activate that would suppress the surnames under children? What happens, is that I manually change the surnames for the children based on information that I have, but that could be different from one another and even the father depending on the name that they eventually choose to use.
