Once the name is incorrect on your Master Surname list, Legacy will try to
automatically force a new name you type into the format you had before . Go
to Master Lists, Surnames (or just click on the arrow to the right of the
surname and you'll get there) and edit the surname in the master list. That
should solve your problem.

Subject: [LegacyUG] "Don't Change What I Type" Not Sticking

When I go to Options and select Data Format and then select "Don't Change
What I Type" for Surnames it does not stick and the "Apply Now" selection is
grayed out. If I type MacDonald I get Macdonald which is wrong. Is this a
bug? It should be easy to fix if so. Have I missed something I should be
doing to accomplish what I want?

Claire
