I also have had problems with PDF files. I sent a descendant and an
individual report to another researcher and she was unable to open them.
I was also using Legacy 5 build of 5 Sep 2004.

Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] PDF files (Yes, Sharon, they are broken)

About a moon ago, Sharon was having trouble with PDF files. I was
interested in this problem so I cast about looking for a PDF validator.
I
wasn't able to find much. There is a free, Java-based toolkit called
Multivalent that includes a .pdf validator. I downloaded it but never
got
around to trying it. Until now.

A small sample of .pdf files sized 100-300kB from a variety of online
sites
(Adobe, Detroit Diesel, Leviton, and PowerQuest) all passed the
validation
check.

I tried two .pdf files from Legacy 5 build of 5 Sept 2004, a Descendant
Chart (5kB) and a Descendant Narrative (25kB). Both failed to validate.
