Jay,
A good point. I think the consensus is that it ideally needs to be an option. If you have some of the destination locations tagged, the new tags get lost in the forest. However, if the destinations are all untagged then having the imports stay tagged makes sense.
So having it as an option sounds good to me.

Cheers,
Rob

I have no trouble importing tagged or untagged locations, but
shouldn't
those that are tagged import with the tag intact?

Hi Keith,

I tried to call you but got your answering machine.

I did fix this and the current build of 22 October 2004 should import
Tagged
locations just fine.

Are you sure you are using the latest build? Do a Help, General
Information
and that screen will tell you the build date and version number.
Should be
22 October 2004 version 5.0.170

If you do have the latest build can you explain the steps you are
taking.

I do a View, Master Lists, Locations. I am using the sample
database. I
then click Options, Import. On the Import lists screen I check the
"Location List" checkbox and the "Tagged Only" locations and then
select the
database. I have another family file that has a bunch of locations in
it.
I have about 4 locations tagged. Each of these 4 tagged locations
just
imported fine for me. I then unchecked the "Tagged Only" locations
and
imported again from that family file and all 1000+ locations were
imported
just fine.

Thanks

Wm,

It would make it a lot easier to quickly verify that the imports had
been made if the tags were still set when imported.
