Have you tried the option to Suppress details for living people found under Report Options > Format tab? The names are still there (or you have the option to Change name to "Living") but no details.
On an individual, you can enclose the birthdate in [[ ]] and it is not displayed on the Family View or an Ancestor Book, Descendent Chart (my limited testing this morning). Still includes yyyy on Ancestor Chart, though. I can't imagine you would really do this, as you probably have lots of living individuals and probably want to see their birthdates on the screen when you're in Legacy.
Hope this helps.

Subject: [LegacyUG] How to privatize dates only
Hejsan Group!
I've been playing with the privatize feature on the standard Legacy and when I check the box labeled private then it takes away all information...I really would just prefer the birthdates taken away for living people. Is there a way to do this and still leave the name of the individual? Thanks so much! Lynette
Hejsan (Hello) once again Legacy group!
Sorry to be tooting the same horn again but does anyone know if we can privatize the dates of living family members only??? When I click the private box it takes away all information...I don't want the names taken away, just the birthdates etc. Thanks for any help in advance! Lynette in Sweden
