Hi Jerald and Jan, Jerald's answer is a little misleading, Jan, in a couple of areas.
When importing a Gedcom you have the choice to add a Master Source to each individual OR to all incoming fields that have information. (eg as he says Gedcom from Aunt Sue received 5 Nov 2004)
Whether or not the Source information already in the Gedcom will end up in Sources in Legacy or in General Notes depends on how well the originating Gedcom follows the Gedcom standards. They should end up in Sources.

The GEDCOM may have source information already included with it, perhaps even for each type of life event in a person's life (name, birthdate, birthplace, etc.) Legacy will NOT import this information directly into the fields that Legacy uses for each life event, but will normally import it into "General Notes" field of the record it applies to. You will have to manually enter that source information into Legacy's Source Master List if you want to take advantage of Legacy's ability to use that Master List to aid you in future data input.
