Walked through this to clarify what was going on (at least for me)... See *** notes below. Thanks, --Paula

Add A. Add B as spouse of A. Add child of A and B.

[that's the simple part]

With B selected, go to "Add|Husband to B" and add C.

[now you have a single instance of B with two husband's, A and C]

Go to child.
Link child to 2nd set of parents B and C (by choosing Link to Existing
Parents).

[now the one child has two sets of parents, A/B and C/B]

With the marriage of B and C displayed, right click on the child and select
Children's Settings. Select the child and set the Child Status to "Adopted".

***Here I set the Relationship to Father (C) to "Adopted" - not the Child Status.
"Adopted" does not show in Family View for either set of parents. Okay?
(When I did set the Child Status to "Adopted" - which seems to me to be inaccurate, since
the child was not adopted by BOTH parents - then "(Adopted)" showed for the child
under just the marriage to C. Good.)

If you don't want to see the 1/2 siblings, right click on Children's Settings,
select View, and uncheck Show 1/2 Kids.

***I did check Show half siblings, and DID see the child twice in the SIBLING LIST, but
NOT in the Family View for either set of parents. Are you all really seeing the child show up listed twice in the same Family View? I believe it is correct to see the same child show up in
two different Family Views, since the child has a natural and an adopted Father -- should show
on each of their Views.
So, is the real problem in the SIBLING LIST only? And it's just a DISPLAY issue, right? There are never really duplicate children in the database?!
