Martin,
With two PC's I presume you have two instances of Legacy running, one on each PC. So, just go to each copy of Legacy in turn, select Options>Customise>Locations and specify the path to the single family file. Although there is one location, as you pointed out, the paths will be different.

This works because the preferences for Legacy, including the paths set under Customise>Options>Locations, are stored in the .usr files that are saved in the same folder as the Legacy program. This means that each instance of Legacy can have a separate path specified for the family files, as well as other customisations. As someone else mentioned, you need to be careful that both instances don't access the data simultaneously. This should not result in corruption of the database, as Access should arbitrate correctly if the database has been set up appropriately, but can certainly result in confusion.

Hope this makes sense.

Cheers,
Rob

I am going to make sure I have a safe backup before trying anything.

At the moment the LEGACY main FDB file is in Shared Documents but all the
pictures of in c:\Program Files\LEGACY\Pictures. Does the program have a
different set of File Location data for each PC? Otherwise I can't
understand how it can keep track of the different paths.
