A lot of places got house numbers late. In Philadelphia they seem to
have come around 1890 or so. Where my sister lives in Oklahoma they
came this year. She uses a PO box. Directions for her house are on the
order of "Third bend on Route 15 going north past Meers, then turn
left. First house down the dirt road." They just got 911 service,
which requires street addresses.
Many country places had no numbers.

Hello all
I am trying to understand how to enter locations. All my research is
here in England.
I have looked at the Sample family on Legacy and note that all
locations do not appear to be complete. In the videos the same applies.
I am not very familiar with locations in USA but it appears that the
house number or name is missing from every location. How will a future
historian know the exact location name such as 124 south East Street
County State etc
Where has that information been put in Legacy
I have local English locations such 33 Worsley Street, Collyhurst,
Manchester, Lancashire, England. That is the full address and can be
identified easily [or at least where it was if it has been demolished]
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
