I believe Archbishop Ussher was under the impression that Noah's flood
was 2348 years ago. He developed his biblical chronology mainly by
studying the genealogies in the Old Testament -- without the aid of
MRINS or four-field addresses.

this system is mind-boggling. 2 to the 60th power is ???.
To say nothing of the vast number of crossings of lines
(*everybody* with Icelandic ancestry is descended from the
same people before 1500 or so, many times over)
