Matt, Good ideas. We will come up with something good. In the mean time, have you used AniMap? I use it to answer these questions all the time for U.S. locations.

Can you guys at the Legacy Software team put an option on the error dialogue box to copy the wording of the dialogue box, with perhaps a county formation pedigree, into the notes of the event in question? I want to have my locations correct but like to keep the location as originally entered in the notes with a brief description (usually it is the wording of the error dialogue box ) of why I changed the event location of the fact in the gedcom I have received, so that it will merge seamlessly with my gedcom when imported.
