Rob,
You're brilliant! It worked!!! It is now on my hard drive and working.
Thank you for demystifying the elusive dreaded 'SET' button, among other
needed instructions. :-) Thank you!
Marie

Hi Marie,

1. First, you need to decide whether you are going to leave the Geo database
(which is large) on the CD, and have to insert the CD each time, or whether
you want to copy it to your PC. If you have plenty of hard disk space, (at
least 500MB free I would suggest, to allow some headroom, though Geo doesn't
take up this much space) it is better to copy it to your hard disk.
2. Then open Legacy (needs to be V5 Deluxe), go to Options> Customise and
select the Other Tab.
3. Under Geo Location Database (on the RH side of the window) click the
Database Maintenance... button. This opens the Geo Location Database Setup
screen with detailed instructions and the buttons you need to click
(including the elusive Set button!).
4. It sounds like you have the Geo Database on your CD already. If so, you
need to insert the CD, click the Set button, and then browse to the folder
on your CD. It will have a large file GeoDB.db in it. If the file isn't
there, or is tiny, then Geo isn't installed (see below). When you've found
it click Open.
5. If you want to leave Geo on your CD, that's it. If you want to move it
to your hard disk, click the Move button and select or create the new
folder. The standard place for Geo is in the Geo folder inside your main
Legacy folder.

If this doesn't work, the Geo database may not be installed on the CD, but
only a placeholder for it. You can follow the instructions in the screen
above to download it from the Legacy website (needs a good link) or to
install it from the CD onto your hard disk, I think. If this doesn't make
sense, I'd suggest you contact Support, or maybe someone else can help.

Cheers,
Rob
