I have mixed both parents of my children plus I have added friends which are
entered FR-Doe John so by putting the "FR at the beginning of the surname
it is kept separate from my family stuff There are over 2000 entries for
this stuff in my data I add every relative that I can find to all the people
in my records I never get confused with the entries in my data. I even have
the ancestry of my sons and daughters in law. Works for me!

I do mine as one complete database because my parents have four distinct
connections in earlier generations between between different branches.
Splitting them would make double work.

Is there any disadvantage in having my husband's ancestors and my
ancestors in the one database?
I started out with them all together then a couple of years ago split
it into two, now I'm not so certain when it comes to using MRINs for
filing purposes.
How do other users deal with their data?
cheers Wendy
