I am with Matt on this. I also used FTM from Ver. 3 to 7, and for the very same reason of a new version before you could get used to the last one, I gave it the boot. Legacy leaves the others in the dust with its excellent program, support and training aids. It will go the same way FTM does if it starts updating before all the bugs are worked out of the present version. I am peaved that it is not backward compatable with previous versions and forces people to get the newest version that really dont need it. I can not exchange information with other family members that have an older version.

Please wait a good while before creating a new version. This is what I hated about FTM - a new version every year. I started using FTM Version 4 in 1998 and now they have a Version 11 only they call it Family Tree Maker 2005 The "Buy the new version or be left behind." sales pitch is not the Legacy way. You guys at Millenia do a great job. Where else can you get support emails directly from the guys and gals who program the product? Not from FTM, or any of the others

I have only been using Version 5 for 6 months. Version 4 was a good product
( and is still better than others). I don't want to upgrade again.

Legacy is a far superior genealogy program than any ou there and I have
tried quite a few. It does not need a whole new version. Keep the updates
coming.

Matt
