Cathy and Rob,
I have a half-sister who is not listed twice on the family view. Nor are any other 1/2 children in other families in my tree. I'm not sure how this happens (I don't want it to happen) as I have never come across this problem. Could there be a "bug"? Carol

Cathy,
Agree totally with you on this:
I'm not sure why people worry if children are showing twice on the family view so long as they know why - and the child isn't actually entered twice. The screen is there for a convenient summary and workspace.
Main thing is to understand why, I guess, which we teased out on the forum a week or two ago.
Cheers, Rob

Hi Rob,
Yes there are all sorts of issues if you do this. I said it wasn't an elegant solution and you may only want to link them to do a particular report. But if you want a "family history" Family Group Sheet with all children associated with both adults, I don't know of another way. Since I very, very rarely print a Family Group Sheet it's not my problem.

Hi Cathy,
Aren't there other issues if you do this? I seem to recall the children get duplicated in the family view if half kids are shown - maybe this is only if you have "show half children" ticked. I guess it's not a problem if you change the relationship back after printing the report.

Hi Anne,
Only if you link all the children to the marriage you want to make the FGS for. You can give the children different status or different relationship to father/relationship to mother tags after you've given them a second set of parents.
It's not a particularly elegant solution and you may not want to leave the link in place for other reports - but you've met the difference between genealogy and family history.
To set Child Status and Relationships, right click on a child in family view and choose Children's Settings.
Cheers, Cathy

Is it possible to make a Family Group Sheet which includes all children of
one or both parties? I.e. if one parent has children from a previous
marriage and then more from a second or third marriage, is it possible to
include those children on the Family Group Sheet?
