Well, Tom,,, read my lips I never have said Legacy should ditch Acrobat Reader, although I for one would not miss it one whit. If Acrobat works for you in some special way, and you can afford the price, that's fine -- go for it!
I only ask that Legacy reports output be available in formats which our preferred word processor can read and edit. It's really quite simple -- my SS budget has no surplus with which to buy something as expensive and specialized as Acrobat, nor do I care to learn yet another application.
