These pages were created using the Internet "create web pages" option. The
type of web page is Pedigree style. If you use this to create a complete set
of web pages for your file you can then print them out in the same way you
can print any internet page.

e.g. If you create the pages in c:\web\ the files are stored as
c:\web\nnnn.htm where nnnn is the RIN of the person. You don'y need to know
the RIN as you can just open c:\web\index.htm and navigate from there to the
pages you want. There are lots of options on the various "tabs" so you can
make the page look just as you want.

My own web site (www.jearnshaw.me.uk) has been, 99%, created using this
facility. I have four main Legacy files that have been "exported" in this
way and I created a Home Page to link them, and other pages, together to
make a family history site. Although I use the output to update my web site
there is no reason why you can't open the pages in your browser(such as MS
Internet Explorer) from your C drive and then print them out. I do this to
make sure I got everything right when I create a new version of my tree.

4 cheers to Legacy for this facility. The comments I get from people
searching for their ancestors who stumble on my site range from "fantastic"
to "WOW".

Subject: [LegacyUG] Which Legacy report does this?

While flopping around on the internet, I came across some very nicely done
pages. At the bottom of the page was the note "This web site created with
Legacy 4.0 from Millenia. If you want to view one example of the page,
it's at:

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~silversmiths/13/6994.htm

Basically, it's a page for an individual person with basic facts, notes,
etc. and it shows the pedigree above the person's name, with all children
listed in a side bar. Very nice looking and would be helpful to print out
for people (like my mother) who aren't really into long pedigree charts,
etc.

My question is: which Legacy report in 5.0 can create a report like this?
Or is it only for web page creation? I'm currently using Legacy 5.0 and
would love to do something like this page for some (just selected ones,
not all) of the names in my database, but is it possible without creating
a web site? I also don't care about having information hyperlinked.... I
just like the look of the page layout. I have looked (using Preview) at
most of the reports, but didn't see anything like it unless I just missed
it.

Thanks,

Jane Hakes
