FTM 2005 imports a Legacy GEDCOM file with an "empty" death event instead of death location Y. There would not be any way to tell the difference between empty death events and death date/location left blank My choice is to enter an estimated death date or location rather than use master locations or a living checkbox.
Consider the look of locations in book reports, wall charts and web sites. Some individuals have a lifetime of events in the same town, county, state, country. Others didn't move but their rural postal address changed. -- Elizabeth ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kami Olsson-Tapp" > If I reimport this into my FTM V11 I get a location of Y associated with > the individual's death. That is certainly not portable!
