I no longer use photos with legacy as have found it much easier to put all on a self open CD (DVD soon as I am running out of room). I now have close to 1000 photos on one family line CD as well as several hundred documents of various types. I elected to go this way as a great deal more can be shared with the family - there are many, many photos to be shared and Legacy can only go so far. My documents, for the most part, are in a .pdf format. However, I also include the genealogies, with no photos, on the CD. If the recipient wishes to print off any of this it is their choice (and expense).

Just my choice as a way to do things but I do know the family members love it as they receive much, much more information.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Picture usage

I'd be interested in knowing how (and to what level) people use pictures in
Legacy.

I understand a picture of an individual can be printed on different reports,
and that's nice.

But, for instance, do most people scan pictures of say birth, death,
marriage certificates in Legacy?

I've done that but they appear not to show up on reports except for "print
the picture album". Is that the intent, or do they print on other reports,
e.g. individual? They don't on mine.

Do many people link pictures to their sources in the picture tab?

I'm just trying to get an idea of how useful it might be to scan all of the
documents in.
