I've never had any success with "entire ancestor line" or "entire descendant line" as it drags in most of my file. I think this is due to several marriages between the different lines.
I find it best to think about the part of the file I'm wanting to separate and then tag descendants of all the furthest back ancestors.
You could do the same with a focus group except that you don't have the option to add the surrounding family (parents, children, spouses). That is the surrounding family members that weren't descendants. I like to include the parents and other spouses and children of those who married into the line.
eg go to your cousin and look at the pedigree view.
Note the furthest back ancestors (of your cousin). (you only need one of each couple)
Check that the tag number you plan to use hasn't been used for something else.
Tag Descendants (not the Entire Descendant line) for the first ancestor.
Go to next ancestor and tag descendants on the same number.
Repeat until you've done it for each descendant.
Export the required file by exporting those tagged x.
When exporting, the options enable you to pick up the parents and other spouses and children of all tagged individuals.
Hope you can follow that. It may make more sense if you try to do it.
Cheers, Cathy

Can someone help me use Focus Groups to separate my file to share with a cousin. Have tried using her mother as individual and ancestors with entire line and it comes out with my mother's family line included as well as my husband's family line which she wouldn't be interested in. Even tried going to our grandfather as the individual and it still does the same. Thanks for any help.
