Hi Kami?
Hope you enjoy using Legacy.
You'll find the modification date can be handy if you ever need to find who you've updated and who you haven't if you are interrupted. I've used it for various reasons. You can search for those modified after a particular date or on a particular date etc.
It can't be turned off as far as I know but can be ignored if it is irrelevant to you. I would think there are many users of Legacy who don't even realise it is there. ;-)
Sorry I don't know enough about gedcom to know whether the modification date and/or creation date is included. If they are, no doubt you can change them.
I would think you would be more interested in changing the creation date as the modification date will change again next time you save any changes for that individual.
Given that some things can be lost in gedcom transfer apparently, this may not be the best way to go.

I've recently switch to Legacy from another program which did not include modified dates. When I imported my gedcom into Legacy, each of my individuals was given a modified date equal to the date/time of import.
I was wondering if there is a way within the Legacy program to change this date to something in the past? I have not tested yet - could I solve this by exporting, editing the gedcom for 1 CHAN, 2 DATE ..., and reimporting?
Is there a way to turn the modification tracking off?
